Verdict:
TRUE
Johor Baru Selatan police chief ACP Raub Selamat said the victim, a 53-year-old store supervisor who works in Singapore, lodged a report on the road rage incident at 12.24pm on Wednesday (Jan 14).
He said police are tracing a man who was captured on video assaulting a motorist with a wooden stick on Jalan Utama Lingkaran Dalam in Johor Baru at around 9.15pm on Tuesday.
The suspect, who was on a motorcycle, allegedly became enraged when the man's car nearly collided with him as it exited a petrol station, reported Bernama.
"The suspect then dismounted, approached the man's vehicle, and struck his hand with a wooden stick, causing cuts and swelling to his right hand.
"The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code, and we are intensifying our search for the suspect," said Raub in a statement on Thursday (Jan 15).
He has appealed for public cooperation, urging anyone with information to come forward to any nearby police station or the Johor Baru Selatan district police headquarters.
