A VIDEO clip showing crocodile-infested waters in Sabah's Penampang district has raised safety concerns.
The one-minute video went viral recently, prompting the police to investigate claims that the reptiles were being farmed illegally without proper safety measures and posed a danger to the public.
Is there a crocodile threat as claimed?
VERDICT:

FALSE
Penampang OCPD Supt Sammy Newton said on Tuesday (Jan 13) that the crocodile farm where the video was recorded is operating legally.
"Acting on information received, a team of officers inspected a crocodile farm in the Penampang area.
"The inspection found that the farm possesses a valid licence as well as a licence to sell crocodile meat issued by the Sabah Wildlife Department," he said in a statement.
He said the video was believed to have been recorded near the farm and did not involve any violation of the law.
"The situation is under control and does not pose any threat to public safety," he said, noting that the farm was properly fenced off to prevent any crocodiles there from escaping.
"The public is also advised not to make speculations that could raise concern.
"(Only) share accurate and responsible information by referring to official statements from the authorities," he added.
