QuickCheck: Was a man performing silat in the middle of a Kluang cemetery?


Sometimes you just have to give in to your inner thoughts. And sometimes your inner thoughts are telling you to perform silat at a cemetery.

Is it true that a local man was performing silat while wearing a helmet at a cemetery in Johor as seen in a viral video recently?

VERDICT:

TRUE

The 27-second video of the man performing the act on Nov 21, was recorded by a motorist and uploaded at the Facebook account of “This is Johor”.

“The 31-year-old man was detained at the roadside of Jalan Merdeka on Monday (Nov 24) at 1pm," Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said in a statement.

He said the suspect who was staying with his foster mother at Jalan Masjid, Ayer Hitam near here was tested positive for methamphetamine.

“He also has four prior offences on his criminal record including drug-related offenses," added ACP Bahrin.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and the suspect has been remanded from Nov 25 to Nov 27, to assist with investigation.
