Is Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) giving away free flowers at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa?
Verdict:
FALSE
DBKL has denied viral claims on social media alleging that free flower plants were being distributed to the public at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa following the KL Park Festival 2025.
DBKL stated that no distribution of flower plants to the public is permitted.
Instead, cleaning work and relocation of decorative plants are being carried out by appointed contractors as part of the event's closure process.
"The public is advised not to enter the area without permission and not to take any plants or decorative materials at the festival site," the local authority said on its Facebook page on Wednesday (Oct 29).
"This measure is taken to ensure public safety and the smooth running of cleaning work," it added.
DBKL also advised city residents not to spread unverified information and to only refer to DBKL's official channels for confirmation or the latest information.
The authority stressed that the spread of inaccurate information can cause confusion and disrupt the work of contractors who are still carrying out post-event duties.
The clarification comes as cleaning and dismantling operations continue at the festival site.
Members of the public are reminded to respect the ongoing work and refrain from trespassing on the restricted areas.
