Verdict:

TRUE

Two men in Kluang, Johor, were alleged to have stolen a bag placed in a motorcycle basket, thinking there were valuables inside.

However, the item turned out to be only a school bag.

Kluang OCP Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Nor said a report on this was received from a local at 7.35pm on Oct 1.

He said the person who lodged the report had mentioned that their handphone went missing, as seen in the video.

"It is believed to have happened at a shoplot in Taman Tasik at about 6pm.

"Closed-circuit television systems (CCTV) show two men taking and fleeing with the bag," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 1).

The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code (Punishment for theft), which can see penalties or a jail sentence of up to 10 years, or both, if convicted.
