QuickCheck: Does securing a high-paying part-time job require an upfront fee?

EXTRA income is always welcome, and opportunities to earn some extra cash appear to be everywhere.

The latest viral opportunity to make money online involves high-paying part-time jobs that require a registration fee.

The job appears quite straightforward, as it involves simply packaging the selected types of products they send. The fee is also relatively low and is said to be solely for registration purposes.

So, do high-paying part-time jobs really require an advance fee nowadays?

Verdict:

FALSE

According to the police, legitimate employers or companies will never ask employees to make advance payments before starting a job. Early posts on the police's social media channels indicate that this scam tactic was identified as early as 2021.

Findings by MyCheck reveal that scammers frequently utilise video clips and images stolen from legitimate content creators and businesses to make their posts appear authentic.

Another easier-to-spot red flag is that the scammers frequently use language that sounds unnatural for a native speaker. Their text is often riddled with misspellings as well.
