A man high on drugs has been arrested after acting aggressively while roaming the streets of Bandar Indah Jaya in Sandakan with a 70-cm parang.

The 27-year-old foreigner was arrested after his erratic and threatening behaviour scared residents and shoppers on Monday (April 28).

Sandakan OCPD Asst Comm Ahsmon Bajah said the suspect was believed to be under the influence of methamphetamine during the incident.

"A team from the mobile patrol vehicle and motorcycle patrol unit divisions of the Sandakan police headquarters was deployed immediately and managed to arrest the suspect and seize the weapon," he said on Tuesday (April 29).
