An elderly man narrowly escaped death after the car he was driving plunged from a multi-storey car park at Pangsapuri Seri Malaysia near Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, on Sunday (Feb 9).
The video of the incident went viral, drawing significant attention on social media after it was uploaded on Monday (Feb 10).
Cheras District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Aidil Bolhassan, confirmed the incident to Majoriti.
He stated that the 78-year-old driver survived without serious injuries.
"The incident occurred when the driver accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal while attempting to park on the fourth floor," he explained.
As a result, the car crashed through the parking wall before falling to the ground.
The driver was alone during the incident and suffered only minor injuries. He was taken to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz for treatment.
Meanwhile, the building management has cordoned off the affected area and will carry out repairs to ensure the safety of residents.
