Police have confirmed that 34 pieces and fragments of bones found at Pantai Batu Buruk 2 in Kuala Terengganu on Thursday night (Jan 30) are not human.
Kuala Terengganu District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor, stated this conclusion was based on the results of a post-mortem conducted at 11am on Friday (Jan 31).
Forensic experts from Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah confirmed that the bones do not belong to a human.
The post-mortem revealed differences in shape, thickness, and length that do not match any human skeletal bones.
Samples of the bones' deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) will be handed over to the investigating officer for further action.
On Thursday night, the public was alarmed by the discovery of bones believed to be human behind the Public Works Department Quarters at Pantai Batu Buruk.
