QuickCheck: Is the viral video of a woman breaking car windows in Johor real?


A VIDEO circulating online recently shows an unidentified woman breaking the side and rear windows of a car.

The video shows a woman, with her right hand wrapped, punching a large hole in the rear window of a parked car while bystanders look on.

According to the caption accompanying the video, the incident occurred in Perling, Johor, and was related to infidelity.

Is the video for real?

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh confirmed that police received a report on the incident from a local man at noon on Aug 5.

“The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code (for committing mischief resulting in loss or damage),” he said in a statement on Friday (Aug 16).

He added that the investigation is ongoing.

"We advise the public not to resort to damaging property or disrupting public order.

"It is not only against the law, it may also cause losses and difficulties for other people.

“All parties are urged to act responsibly and avoid engaging in any act of violence, which may result in strict legal action," he said.
