QuickCheck: Is a local think tank recruiting new employees via an online platform?

PETALING JAYA: The Institute of Strategic & International Studies (Isis) Malaysia is a research organisation that focuses on various studies such as foreign policy, security studies, economics, nation-building, social policy, technology, innovation and environmental studies.

Recently, there are individuals claiming to be part of the organisation, offering job opportunities.

So is it true that the think tank is recruiting new hires through an online platform?

VERDICT:

FALSE

Isis Malaysia said it is aware that they are being falsely represented and that there are parties soliciting resumes and articles via email ending in 'isisglobal.org'.

"Please note that all emails from Isis Malaysia come from the @isis.org.my domain and vacancies are posted on our website www.isis.org.my/opportunities," it said in its post on its official IG account, adding that job vacancies for the organisation are also posted on its website.

"You can also reach out to us through our official social media accounts," it added.

It added that those who engage with these individuals or any other platforms promoted by the imposters do so at their own risk.
