A RECENT viral video shows a man jumping out of his car at a police roadblock and attempting to flee through a nearby padi field. Was this video shot in Kedah?

Kota Setar OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Shukri Mad Akhir said the video, uploaded by a TikTok user at about 10am on Jan 13, showed a group of policemen arresting an individual in a padi field in Alor Mengkudu, Kedah.
In a statement, the police said that at the time of the incident, an officer had ordered the vehicle to pull over for an inspection.
However, when the car stopped, the driver dashed out and tried to escape through the padi field. Their suspicions aroused, police officers manning the roadblock gave chase and managed to catch him.
Checks on the vehicle and the driver found nothing illegal and the man had no criminal record.
"When we interviewed him, he admitted running away as he had no driving licence and was afraid of being fined as he was unemployed," the police said.
The ranking officer at the roadblock was satisfied with the man's explanation and, since he lived nearby, allowed him to return home with a stern warning not to repeat the offence.
