George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong confirmed that a fight took place as shown, adding that a 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly hurting a man while drunk.

"On June 14, at 9.37am, a 38-second video was uploaded on Twitter showing two men fighting in front of a restaurant. The police found that the incident occurred on Monday (June 13) at 12.30am at Lebuh Chulia in George Town, Penang," said ACP Soffian.

He added that the initial investigation found that the cause of the incident was drunkenness and a verbal altercation after the suspect reprimanded the complainant rudely.

"A police report was lodged by a 40-year-old foreign man at the north-east district police headquarters regarding the incident in which he claimed to have been attacked by a man using a bottle, causing him to suffer facial injuries," he said in a statement on Tuesday.
