Brunei: Only four Covid-19 patients left in National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Brunei is almost clear of all Covid-19 cases. There has been no cases of Covud-19 (coronavirus) since May 7 and the Brunei Health Ministry on Sunday (May 17) announced that there are currently only four active cases being treated at the National Isolation Centre (NIC) in Tutong.

Brunei also reported one more recovery case on Saturday, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 136.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, no new cases of Covid-19 were recorded on Saturday, with the national tally of cases standing at 141 as of Sunday morning, marking the ninth consecutive day without new cases since May 7.

From the four patients in NIC, two patients remain in critical condition. The other two patients are in a stable condition.

There has been one death resulting from the Covid-19 in Brunei.

The ministry added that so far 101 individuals are still undergoing quarantine and some 16,892 laboratory tests for Covid-19 have been conducted.

The Health Mminister announced that a total of 84,524 individuals have registered as users to Bruhealth application since its launch on the Apple and Google playstore. In addition, a total of 1,317 businesses and premises have registered for the application.

The BruHealth app is used for the purpose of exit and entry to premises that have been given flexibility such as restaurants, café, food stall, golf courses, sports facilities and others; as well as for other premises that will be announced in the future such as mosques. - Borneo Bulletin/Asian News Network
