Myanmar parliament approves IDA loans

NAYPYIDAW (Xinhua): Myanmar parliament approved to get US$350 million of loan from the World Bank's International Development Association (IDA) for the Ministry of Electricity and Energy at the meeting on Thursday (March 26).

"The loan will be used to build a new combined cycle gas turbine in Ywama Natural Gas Power Station in Insein township, to increase the installation capacity of the main power stations in the transmission system and to upgrade the power system," deputy minister Maung Maung Win for planning, finance and industry said at the meeting.
