Man arrested for allegedly killing ex-wife in Bangkok department store


BANGKOK (ANN): A 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his former wife.

Officers of Metropolitan Police Division 1 and Phyathai Police Station on Wednesday (February 19) arrested Danusorn Noonjaroen, who is suspected of gunning down Piyanoot Chatchai on Tuesday evening at Century The Movie Plaza department store near Victory Monument in Bangkok.

A female bystander was injured in the attack.Danusorn was arrested at a house in Kaengkrajan district of Phetchburi province.

He reportedly had in his possession a Colt.45 handgun, 32 bullets and two holsters.

Police said Danusorn had confessed to his crime and told officers that he was planning to escape to the Hua Hin district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

He was charged with five offences: murder, attempted murder, possessing gun and ammunition without licence, carrying a firearm in a public place without proper cause and licence, and discharging firearms in a public place. He was sent to the custody of Phyathai Police Station. – The Nation/Asia News Network
