Covid-19: Three new cases confirmed in Singapore, 34 discharged

SINGAPORE (Bernama): Singapore's Health Ministry confirmed Wednesday (Feb 19) three additional cases of Covid-19 in the republic, bringing the total number of positive cases to 84.

All three new cases are Singapore citizens with no recent travel history to China.

One of them is a 54-year-old man who is linked to The Life Church and Missions Singapore church, and who travels frequently to Malaysia for work purposes.

The ministry said the man was confirmed as a Covid-19 case Wednesday morning, and is currently in isolation at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID).

On the condition of confirmed cases, the ministry said a total of 34 cases had fully recovered from the disease and had been discharged from hospital.

One of the fully recovered cases is the first imported case comprising a 66-year-old male Chinese national from Wuhan who arrived in Singapore with his family on Jan 20.

Of the 50 confirmed cases still in hospital, most are stable or improving, while four are in critical condition. - Bernama
