JOHOR BAHRU: Police are tracking down a group of men who allegedly set off firecrackers on a main road near the Taman Nesa traffic light junction in Skudai here.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Azrol Anuar Nor said police detected a viral Facebook video at about 1.30am on Sunday (Nov 8), showing a group of men setting off firecrackers on the road.

He said a team from the district police headquarters went to the location at about 1.45am to investigate the incident.

"However, upon arrival, the group of men believed to be involved had already left the scene.

"Further checks only found traces of firecracker explosions in the area," he said here on Sunday (Nov 8).

He advised the public against speculating about the incident, as it could interfere with the ongoing investigation.

Azrol Anuar also reminded the public not to set off firecrackers on roads as such actions could lead to accidents and injuries to themselves and other road users.
