Two men on motorcycle open fire on parked vehicle in Sitiawan

IPOH: Two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired four shots at a BMW parked outside a house in Taman Hijau, Kampung Koh in Sitiawan.

Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the incident is believed to have occurred at about 4.16am on Friday (Oct 30) when the vehicle owner, who was inside his house, heard a loud bang.

He said the man only discovered four bullet marks on the right-side door of his BMW at about 9am.

“Police received a report on the incident at about 1.54pm the same day.

“A review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showed two unidentified suspects approaching the vehicle on a motorcycle.

“One of them was then seen firing shots at the car before both suspects fled the scene,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Oct 31)

He said police have opened an investigation paper and are investigating the case under Section 39 of the Arms Act 1960.

“Efforts to track down the suspects are ongoing,” he added.

He said members of the public with information on the incident can contact the Manjung district police headquarters at 05-6886222 or its WhatsApp hotline at 017-6828005, or visit any nearby police station.
