MELAKA: Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu (pic) has acknowledged that voters may be confused over the political cooperation between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional, as both coalitions are part of the Federal Government.
He said the situation could make it difficult for voters to distinguish between the achievements of the respective coalitions when both were sharing responsibility in the administration.
"People are somewhat confused because Barisan is also in the government, and PH is also in the government.
"When BN talks about the government's achievements, we also describe them as the government's achievements. It is up to the voters to weigh things up," he told reporters at Dewan Tunku Ali, the nomination centre for the Bukit Katil state constituency on Saturday (Oct 31).
Mohamad said Pakatan would focus its campaigning efforts on the constituencies contested by its component parties.
"We will campaign accordingly. Since we are not contesting everywhere, we will focus on the constituencies where we are contesting under Pakatan," he said.
Asked whether party leaders would make a concerted effort to explain the situation to voters, he said they would try to clarify matters, although some confusion would remain.
"We will make an effort to explain. But, as I said earlier, the confusion among the people will still be there," he added.
