700,000 M’sians driven towards TuJu app

CYBERJAYA: Malaysia’s homegrown navigation application TuJu has recorded more than 700,000 downloads in just over a day.

The surge in downloads led to a disruption in the app, the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said.

It said TuJu’s developer was working to restore system stability and increase its capacity to accommodate more users.

In a statement, LLM said the disruptions followed a significant increase in users after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim encouraged the public to use TuJu as an alternative for road navigation.

LLM said it was also reviewing user feedback on navigation functions, route information accuracy and the overall app experience to guide further improvements.

“Improvements will continue to ensure that TuJu provides a more stable, accurate and user-friendly service,” it said, apologising for the inconvenience caused.

Users can submit complaints and feedback via email at feedback@prosignalconsortium.my.

Introduced on Nov 26, 2025, TuJu is a highway navigation app developed by Prosignal Consortium Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with LLM.

Besides route information, it provides traffic updates, information on facilities and emergency assistance for highway users, Bernama said.

LLM said it would continue working with the Works Ministry, the National Cyber Security Agency and other relevant parties to strengthen the local navigation ecosystem, in line with the government’s emphasis on cybersecurity and national digital sovereignty.

It said data security and governance were among the key aspects requiring attention, adding that user feedback and complaints would be taken seriously.

LLM deputy director-general (operations) Dr Mohammed Ridzuan Jahidin said the app offered a range of practical features tailored to the needs of Malaysian road users.

“One of TuJu’s key features was the integration of live-streaming closed-circuit television feeds, enabling users to monitor highway traffic conditions in real time,” he said at a briefing on national security issues.

LLM operations and maintenance director Mohd Shahrir Amin Ahmad said the authority had been working to enhance the service through MyTuJu Version 2.0, which comes with more advanced features.

The latest version incorporated information on accidents along routes, a directory of electric vehicle charging stations and integrated local points of interest.
