KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor says she has been deeply moved by offers of contributions from friends in Malaysia and abroad following the latest developments involving her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (Sept 20), Rosmah said friends from countries including Brunei, Italy, Singapore and Canada had contacted her to express their happiness over the developments and their willingness to contribute.
“They only want to see Datuk back with the family. That is all,” she said.
Rosmah said she had not expected so many people to still care about the family and come forward to offer help.
“I never imagined that so many people still cared and were willing to come forward to help with such sincerity.
“Today, I realise who the friends are who have always stood by us through good times and bad,” she said.
She also thanked them for their prayers, affection and support.
Najib was granted a conditional pardon on Friday, allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence in the SRC International case under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028, subject to him paying a RM50mil fine.
His daughter Nooryana Najwa Najib said on Sunday that funds raised towards the fine would be paid through official channels before a release order for house arrest could be obtained.
