KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two teenage boys suspected of supplying a student with drug-laced vape liquid in Negri Sembilan.
Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said one suspect was a 17-year-old schoolmate of the victim, while the other was an 18-year-old.
"The two supplied the drug-laced vape to the victim and we are tracking down another individual who is their supplier.
"Investigations reveal that drug-laced vape liquid is being sold through social media. In this case, the victim bought it from his friend, while his friend bought it online," he said at a media conference here on Friday (Nov 6).
He added that analysis of the vape liquid indicated various drugs, including ketamine, benzodiazepines and cannabinoids.
Preliminary urine screening tests found both suspects positive for drugs, and they were handed over to the National Anti-Drugs Agency for further action under the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983, he added.
He also revealed that the police have identified three main suspects - a Singaporean, a Taiwanese and a Myanmar national - behind the international syndicate responsible for the vessel MT Global 168 that was detained by Indonesian authorities for drug smuggling.
"Their identities and photos have been identified, and we are working closely with the authorities in the respective countries to track them down," he said. - Bernama
