15-year-old killed after crashing motorcycle into cow


KULAI: A 15-year-old motorcyclist was killed after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a cow along Jalan Kulai-Kota Tinggi here.

Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said police received information about the accident at about 2.15am in the wee hours of Saturday (Sept 19).

Initial investigations found that the victim was riding a Yamaha motorcycle with a 20-year-old male pillion rider from Kulai towards Kota Tinggi.

“The motorcycle was travelling along the road when the rider failed to avoid a cow that was crossing the road,” ACP Tan said.

He added that the teenager suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The pillion rider was taken to Kulai Hospital for treatment,” he said, adding that the accident occurred at KM9 of Jalan Kulai-Kota Tinggi.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
