Manjung police dispose of seized items worth almost RM3mil


MANJUNG: The Manjung police have disposed of 35,516 items seized in cases involving gambling, Bitcoin mining and smuggling of cigarettes and liquor, with a total estimated value of RM2.95mil.

Perak deputy police chief Deputy Comm Mohammad Azlin Sadari said the disposal involved 173 investigation papers for cases recorded from 2019 to 2026.

He said seized cigarettes and liquor accounted for the highest value at RM1.575mil, followed by Bitcoin mining equipment at RM1.275mil and gambling-related items at RM99,538.

"The items were disposed of after all the investigation papers had been completed at the prosecution stage and approval for their disposal had been obtained.

"Bitcoin mining equipment was disposed of through e-waste management, while the other seized items were disposed of using an excavator and by burning, in accordance with the prescribed procedures," he told a press conference here on Tuesday (Sept 15). – Bernama
