PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) must immediately unfreeze Bersatu’s bank accounts now that its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been acquitted and discharged of four charges in the Jana Wibawa-linked graft trial, says the party's youth wing.
"Following the discharge and acquittal, Armada calls for the MACC to immediately cancel the freeze on all of Bersatu’s official bank accounts without using any bureaucratic excuses.
"There is no longer any legal or moral basis to continue restricting our right to manage our affairs," Armada information chief Harris Idaham Rashid said in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 15).

He also said the acquittal and discharge of Muhyiddin on charges related to the Jana Wibawa programme reflected how the former prime minister’s administration had always been clean, had integrity, and was grounded in the rule of law.
"It also dispelled malicious allegations made by political opponents," he said.
He added that the challenges faced by the party only fuelled Armada’s spirit to move forward, close ranks and demand justice for all Malaysians.
Earlier in the day, the High Court acquitted Muhyiddin of four charges in his graft trial linked to the Jana Wibawa programme.
The acquittal was on a charge of abusing his position for a RM200mil bribe and three counts of money laundering involving the same amount.
Justice Noor Ruwena Md Nurdin made the order after allowing an application by deputy public prosecutor Datuk Ahmad Akram Gharib.
The DPP told the court that the prosecution did not intend to proceed with the case according to Section 254(1) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Muhyiddin, however, still faces three charges of using his position for a RM25.3mil bribe for Bersatu from Nepturis Sdn Bhd, Mamfor Sdn Bhd and KCJ Engineering Sdn Bhd and its director Datuk Azman Yusoff.
