IPOH: A rural clinic and adjoining quarters were 90% destroyed in a fire at Kampung Sumpitan in Lenggong.
The Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the incident occurred early this morning. (Sept 11)
He said the department received an emergency call about the fire at 4.04am.
“A team from the Lenggong Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 4.14am and found the 40ft by 60ft Class B building, which was used as a clinic, and the quarters engulfed in flames.
“A car was also damaged, with about 5% of the vehicle affected by the fire.
“No casualties were reported in the incident,” it said in a statement today. (Sept 11)
He said the fire was brought under control at 4.50am and the operation ended at 6.24am.
A total of 13 firefighters from the Lenggong and Batu Kurau fire and rescue stations were involved in the operation, along with five policemen and two personnel from Tenaga Nasional Bhd.
