A VIDEO showing a takeaway order of beef noodles containing a live newborn rat has gone viral in Hong Kong, China Press reported.
The tiny creature was seen squirming in the sauce, leaving netizens disgusted.
The food was reportedly ordered from an eatery in an industrial building in Kwai Chung, and the customer involved has lodged a complaint with the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department.
The person who uploaded the video described the tiny rodent as a “live baby rat dancing”.
The incident sparked heated discussion online, with one netizen sarcastically commenting: “No extra charge for a free portion of rat sashimi”.

Eyewitnesses said the woman stood motionless in the middle of the road while scrolling through her phone for 20 to 30 minutes.
She refused to move despite the driver repeatedly honking until police arrived and took her away.
The woman was later fined NT$500 (RM64).
