Johor hospital probing sexual harassment complaint

PETALING JAYA: Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru has set up a special investigation committee to probe a sexual harassment complaint involving a medical specialist from its anaesthesiology department.

The Johor Health Department said the hospital received the complaint on Aug 28 and immediately initiated an internal investigation.

This followed a report that certain parties allegedly asked the complainant to withdraw the complaint after lodging it.

The Health Department said the hospital does not tolerate any attempt to conceal, obstruct, pressure or prevent staff from lodging complaints involving alleged sexual harassment.

"Any such attempt is unacceptable and will not be compromised," it said, adding that the internal investigation report was now being finalised.

It added that the hospital was committed to ensuring fairness for all parties while maintaining the transparency and integrity of the investigation at every stage.
