Cabinet to review terms of reference for corporate mafia probe

PETALING JAYA: The Cabinet will be presented with the proposed terms of reference for a special task force investigating allegations of a corporate mafia, says Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil.

"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim informed the Cabinet that the framework for the terms of reference of the special task force investigating the allegations will be presented at next week's Cabinet meeting," the Communications Minister said at a press conference on Friday (Oct 23).

He said Anwar also reiterated the government's commitment to make the findings of the investigation public within three months of the probe's completion.

Anwar had previously announced the timeframe during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Oct 20).

He said the special task force is being set up to investigate allegations of a corporate mafia, with its terms of reference expected to establish the framework for the investigation.

It was reported that a three-month timeframe for disclosing the findings would begin after the investigation has been completed.
