Four killed in 11-vehicle crash on East Coast Expressway

KUANTAN: Four people were killed in an accident involving 11 vehicles at KM110 of the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1) from Lanchang towards Kuantan on Monday (Aug 31) night.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Mohd Salahuddin Isa said the department received an emergency call at 10.44pm.

He said those killed were trapped in two vehicles. They comprised a man, a woman and a boy in one car and another male in a separate vehicle.

Firemen helped extricate all the victims before they were pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel.

He said the crash also involved a bus, but all 30 passengers escaped unharmed. — Bernama
