KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain returned to duty on Monday (Nov 2) and chaired a meeting to discuss the agency's strategic direction for 2027.
Comm Mohd Shuhaily, who returned to office after being on leave last week, chaired the Commander's Call Meeting No. 3/2026 at the agency's headquarters in Putrajaya.
"The meeting brought together senior officers and commanders of AKPS entry points to discuss preparations and operational priorities for next year.
"It also focused on strengthening the agency's strategic direction, operational readiness and the effectiveness of border control and protection," the agency said in a Facebook post.
AKPS said it remained committed to improving operational efficiency, integrity and security at the country's entry points.
Last week, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said Comm Mohd Shuhaily would be returned to the police force from his secondment at AKPS.
He had said Comm Mohd Shuhaily, who is a police officer currently seconded to AKPS, would be returned to the police force.
“We have decided to return him to the police force," he said.
