SJK(T) Bandar Spring Hill hosted a special celebration for the International Lefthanders Day to recognise and appreciate left- handed students of the school, Malaysia Nanban reported.

School headmaster, identified as Yogenthran, said the day, which is observed on Aug 13 every year, is not as popular as Mothers Day or Teachers Day.

About 10% of the students at the Tamil school in Seremban are left-handed, prompting the school to organise the celebration to give them special recognition and highlight their unique experiences.

During the programme, the students were given a presentation on the strengths, advantages and also challenges of being a left-hander.

They then took part in a colouring contest and other activities where students who are right- handed attempted everyday tasks with their left hand.

The event proved to be a memorable and meaningful occasion for both students and teachers, Yogenthran added.
