A STUDENT from China’s Henan province, whose birthday falls on April 4, scored 444 marks in the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) and successfully obtained a place at college to study funeral technology and management, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The series of coincidences involving the number “four” sparked discussion online, with Internet users joking that he was fated to have a career in the funeral industry.

> A guest at a hotel in Hainan, China, reported the establishment to authorities after being charged 924 yuan (RM560) when her son broke a tissue box, Sin Chew Daily reported.

When contacted, the hotel explained that the 924 yuan paid was the listed retail reference price in the hotel room.

However, it offered to refund the woman 462 yuan (RM280).

She rejected the refund and lodged a complaint with the authorities.
