PETALING JAYA: A total of 82,092 candidates, representing 76.10% of eligible applicants, have been offered places at public universities for bachelor’s degree programmes, says the Higher Education Ministry.
In a statement on Friday (Aug 14), the ministry said it received 107,875 eligible applications through the UPUOnline system.
“The ministry extends its appreciation to candidates who completed Matriculation, STPM, Foundation, STAM, Diploma or equivalent programmes and submitted applications to pursue their studies at public universities through UPUOnline,” the statement read.
The ministry added that student admissions were determined purely by meritocracy, with candidates ranked according to their merit scores from highest to lowest.
Unsuccessful applicants can submit an appeal via UPUOnline during a 10-day period starting from 12pm on Aug 14 until 5pm on Aug 23.
