KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a foreign man on suspicion of stabbing his housemate following a heated argument.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Rosdi Daud said that the arrest was made on Sunday (Aug 9), less than 24 hours after the stabbing incident in Taman Cheras Baru.
“Police arrested the suspect in front of a clinic along Jalan 16, Kampung Cheras Baru at around 12am on Sunday.
“A knife, believed to have been used in the incident, was also seized," he said in a statement.
ACP Mohd Rosdi said the suspect and the victim are housemates and co-workers who have been living together for five years.
“The victim is a 36-year-old Bangladeshi national who works as a store assistant. He is currently receiving treatment in the Yellow Zone at Ampang Hospital and is currently stable.
“The incident was motivated by dissatisfaction and the suspect’s failure to control his anger following a series of misunderstandings between the suspect and the victim,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means).
