MARANG: A 65-year-old man has been killed after the car he was driving skidded and crashed into the fence of a driving school on Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan, near Alur Tuman, here.
Marang police chief Supt Mohd Sofian Redzuan said they received a call from the public regarding the accident at 7.30am on Friday (Aug 7).
He said investigations found that the victim was driving from Masjid Kelulut to his home in Pulau Kerengga when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer onto the right shoulder of the road before crashing.
"The man was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe head injuries. The body was sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital (HSNZ) for a post-mortem," he said when contacted on Friday.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – Bernama
