SEREMBAN: Twin brothers Izzat Izwan Mohd Noor and Izzat Ismir have made it a tradition to vote together in every election since becoming eligible, viewing it as a shared constitutional duty.
Despite now being married and living apart, the 38-year-old twins still prefer to cast their ballots together.
To keep the tradition alive, Izzat Izwan, a Selangor Fire and Rescue Department personnel, called his brother on Thursday (July 30) to coordinate their polling plans.
"I returned to Seremban on Friday night so that we can go and vote early today.
"Since we started voting, we had always been doing it together," he said when met at the SM KGV polling centre on Saturday (Aug 1).
Izzat Izwan said although he was now working in another state, his identity card still carried their family's home address.
Izzat Ismir, who works with Pos Malaysia, expressed hope that whichever party was given the mandate to run the state by voters would execute their responsibilities to the best of their ability.
"I do not care who wins, as what matters is that the people on the ground benefit from that victory.
"My hope is that whoever wins will listen to the grievances of the people and fulfil their pledges made in their manifesto," he added.
