Felda Task Force report ready soon, could be made public as well, says Anwar

JEMPOL: The government is expected to complete the Felda Task Force report within the next few months, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister also hinted that the report could also be made public, following Putrajaya's move to declassify the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji.

He said the report would form part of the government's efforts to address longstanding governance issues in Felda and ensure greater transparency.

"We have already released the Tabung Haji story. Perhaps in the next few months, once the Felda Task Force report is ready, we will release that too for the public to read about Felda," he said during the Grand Finale Kekal Harapan here on Friday (July 31).

He said the government was determined to rectify past abuses and put an end to alleged misappropriation involving public institutions.

"We want to put things right so that the Pakatan Harapan government, whether in Negri Sembilan or at Federal level, puts a stop to all these stories of plundering. That is my responsibility," he said.

The Cabinet this week agreed to declassify the RCI report on Tabung Haji and release it to the public, while also deciding that the findings would be tabled in Parliament.

The government has also expanded the scope of investigations beyond the original review period to include the administrations of the Pakatan Harapan 1.0 and Perikatan Nasional governments.
