SEREMBAN: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed his strong partnership with Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and the unity government despite the Tabung Haji inquiry.
“Ahmad Zahid and his colleagues support the resolution, so there is no question about continuing to work together," he said after Friday prayers at a mosque in Paroi on Friday (July 31).
He said the Deputy Prime Minister supported releasing the report publicly.
“Ahmad Zahid was very positive in allowing this to be discussed," he said.
Anwar said he had proposed the disclosure and had only encouraged it along.
“Ahmad Zahid was very positive about allowing this to be discussed,” he said, adding that he had proposed disclosing the findings and encouraged the process along.
When asked whether he could still work with Ahmad Zahid or Umno, Anwar said the issue must be viewed in the context of the report itself, emphasising that both sides had agreed to cooperate and release the findings to the public.
Recently, Ahmad Zahid stated that no one would be spared if named in the report, asserting that the issue would not impact Barisan Nasional’s campaign in the Negri Sembilan state election.
