PUTRAJAYA: Demand for skilled workers generated 343,836 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)-related job opportunities in the first six months of this year, says Datuk Seri R. Ramanan (pic).
The Human Resources Minister said the vacancies were listed on the MYFutureJobs platform, reflecting the growing recognition of technical and vocational skills in the job market in line with industry needs.
He said TVET-related jobs advertised on MYFutureJobs offered an average monthly salary of RM3,658, underscoring the strong demand for skilled workers.
“For certain fields, the salaries offered are higher depending on experience, job location and the competency certifications held by graduates.
“This shows that upskilling and professional certification can open doors to more competitive earnings,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Ramanan said demand for TVET graduates was particularly strong across sectors such as engineering, maintenance, electrical and electronics, information and communications technology, construction, automotive, semiconductors and machine operations.
“The diversity of these sectors proves that TVET graduates have broad career prospects across various high-impact industries that drive the country’s economic growth,” he said.
He added that the trend reflected the high level of industry confidence in the capabilities of local skilled workers to meet the evolving demands of the job market.
