SEREMBAN: It is crucial to maintain political stability in Negri Sembilan, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar said a strong mandate for Pakatan would enable the state government to work in tandem with the Federal Government, ensuring development initiatives and public welfare programmes are implemented effectively.
The Prime Minister, who is also Pakatan chairman, said political stability and unity are fundamental to sustaining the state’s development and delivering lasting benefits to the people.
He said the state has remained stable under the leadership of caretaker Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, thanks to the cooperation of all parties.
“Everybody knows what we have done, and what Tok Min has done in Negri Sembilan over the past three years. Let us keep our politics stable, remain united with a common purpose, prevent any form of abuse and continue safeguarding the people’s interests,” he said in his speech at the “Santai Petang Bersama Warga Ampangan” event yesterday, Bernama reported.
Anwar acknowledged that while the state administration was not perfect, there is room for improvement.
“Give our candidate the chance to serve. Yes, not all our policies are perfect, but continue to give us your feedback, and our candidates will make improvements,” he said.
He added the implementation of reciprocal river widening and deepening projects in several areas proves that the Pakatan-led administration in the state is capable of ensuring that development proceeds and state resources are returned to the people.
“Integrity-based governance must continue to be the foundation of development in the state and the country, stressing that every project must be implemented with the people’s interests as the priority,” he added.
Anwar urged the people to make a wise choice in the election by continuing to give Pakatan the mandate to lead the state government.
“We choose people who are trustworthy. There are many good Malays, many good Indians and many good Chinese who have dignity. Choose them and, God willing, our future will be more secure,” he said.
