KUALA LUMPUR: About 200 officers and personnel from the Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department (KDNKA) will be deployed during the 16th Negri Sembilan state election.
"As with the Johor state election previously, all departments within the police force will be mobilised according to operational requirements to provide manpower and logistical support," said its director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri.
He told reporters this after the closing ceremony of the 2026 KDNKA Obstacle Course Challenge at the Central Brigade General Operations Force firing range here on Wednesday (July 22).
Comm Mohd Yusri said his department had previously deployed 850 officers and personnel to assist with security duties during the Johor state election.
"I have instructed all officers to undergo training, development programmes and exposure related to election duties, including working closely with the Election Commission," he said.
"The safety of voters will remain our priority.
"Our aim is to ensure the Negri Sembilan state election proceeds smoothly so that the people can fulfil their civic responsibility in a peaceful and safe environment," he said.
The Election Commission has set early voting for the Negeri Sembilan state election on July 28, while polling day will be on Aug 1.
