LINGGI: Negri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has rubbished claims of a falling out over the coalition's choice of candidate for Chuah.
Aminuddin said deputy Port Dickson PKR chief Datuk Kenny Chiew Chi Kin, who was among the touted names to contest the seat, is fully behind candidate Datuk Yew Boon Lye and actively helping with the state election campaign.
"We have seen several social media posts playing up a supposed dispute over what happened in Chuah, when the matter was in fact resolved several days back.
"Kenny has also affirmed full support for Pakatan candidates contesting in state seats under the Port Dickson constituency," he told a press conference here on Monday (July 20).
Aminuddin, who is also caretaker Mentri Besar, said Chiew is working hard to ensure the party’s work proceeds smoothly for the Aug 1 state election.

"There was no dispute at all. These were among the perceptions being played up to affect our candidates," he said, without pointing the finger at anyone.
"We want to put an end to claims that there is (a rift) within Chuah and, to a certain extent, Port Dickson," he added.
He also reminded all quarters to campaign ethically.
This comes after several images pitting both Chiew and Yew against each other were reportedly shared on social media.
At the same press conference, Chiew urged his supporters who were unhappy with him not being fielded to remain calm and prioritise Pakatan.
He also explained that he was not selected as a candidate because of a technical fault stemming from an administrative oversight a decade ago.
"I have never been charged nor brought to court. This matter also does not involve any criminal offence, corruption or integrity matters.
"No action has been taken against me over this as well," Chiew said, adding that his legal team will work with the authorities to update his records in the system.
Yew, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to Chiew for continuing to express commitment for Pakatan’s campaign.
"He is not just my fellow party member but also my compatriot. We share a common struggle of wanting to ensure the state continues having a stable and clean government that continues to develop Port Dickson.
"I also want to assure the voters of Chuah that all efforts begun by Chiew will continue as planned," he said.
Yew is in a straight fight against Barisan Nasional’s Pau Jeou Ching for the seat.
In the August 2023 state election, Yew won by a 6,298-vote majority against Perikatan Nasional.
