Nine Bills slated for tabling at next Sabah assembly meeting


KOTA KINABALU: Three fresh Bills and a supplementary Bill are among nine expected to be tabled at the coming Sabah Legislative Assembly meeting that starts on July 20.

Debates scheduled for the four-day meeting include matters on Muslim inheritance laws, native court bills as well as district, native and village chief Bills, said Sabah Speaker Datuk Seri Kadzim M. Yahya.

He said the other bills were for amendments, involving the Sabah Ports Board laws among other things.

"All Bills brought before the assembly are important. It would not be raised for debate

if the issues are not," he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 14).

Kadzim reminded all assembly members to respect and abide by all rules and to make good use of their time during the sessions by giving useful and quality debate materials.

They are also advised to maintain decorum.
