PETALING JAYA: A 30-year-old factory worker from Bangladesh was killed after suffering severe burns when a boiler caught fire at a steel processing factory in Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar, on Saturday (July 11) morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received an emergency call at 8.18am and dispatched firefighters from the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

"The fire involved a boiler measuring about 20ft by 20ft. However, the blaze had already been extinguished by factory workers before firefighters arrived.

"The victim, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi man who worked at the factory, sustained burns all over his body and was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel," he said in a statement today.

Ashrul Riezal said firefighters arrived at the factory, located along Jalan Janakuasa, Kampung Tok Muda, about 6km from the fire station.
