Motorcyclist killed after colliding with another motorcycle in Pasir Gudang

PASIR GUDANG: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot after colliding with another motorcycle near a petrol station at Jalan Masai Baru here.

Seri Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident between the two motorcycles took place on Thursday (July 9) at 6.30pm.

He said preliminary investigations found that the 26-year-old male victim, a local, was riding towards Taman Kota Masai from Bandar Seri Alam.

“Suddenly, a motorcycle ridden by a 58-year-local man emerged from the petrol station area, turning right to enter the main road," ACP Mohd Sohaimi said in a statement.

He said due to the closeness of the distance between the two motorcycles, the victim was unable to avoid it and crashed into the front of the motorcycle before falling onto the road.

“The 26-year-old victim suffered severe internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene," said ACP Mohd Sohaimi.

He added another rider sustained a fractured right leg and bleeding in the head, and is currently receiving treatment in the Red Zone at Pasir Gudang Hospital.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

ACP Mohd Sohaimi called upon those with information on the case to come forward to assist with investigation and contact the investigating officer Insp Wan Siti Norlia Ahmad at 013-671 6594.
