A BUSINESSMAN from China became a laughing stock online for accusing a hotel in Malaysia of not displaying the China flag, only to later find out that the flags being shown were of the 48 teams that qualified for the FIFA World Cup tournament, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The man had earlier posted a video of his stay at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur and became upset after noticing that the hotel restaurant had flags from dozens of countries hanging from the ceiling except the China flag.

Believing the hotel was deliberately discriminating against China, he demanded to see the manager and questioned why the China flag was not displayed.

“If you want to make money from Chinese people, please fly the national flag of China!” he could be heard saying in the video.

It was later revealed that the decorations were for the FIFA World Cup, with the flags representing the 48 qualified tournament teams – which did not include China.

He was widely ridiculed after his video went viral online.

> A man in China’s Zhejiang province had his gym membership terminated after the fitness centre received repeated complaints from other gym-goers about his body odour, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The man, knows as Shi, said the gym cancelled his contract and offered him a three-month membership to another centre.

Gym staff said members had complained about Shi’s strong body odour and his excessive sweating.

Shi admitted he does sweat heavily but said he wipes down the equipment he uses.

The gym’s action sparked widespread debate online over whether the fitness centre was justified in terminating his membership.

Other netziens joked about how the gym was passing on the problem to a rival centre by offering Shi a membership to a different gym.
