PM Anwar sends good wishes to Johor early voters


JOHOR BARU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today extended his best wishes to all early voters casting their ballots in the 16th Johor state election.

In his Facebook post, Anwar, who chairs Pakatan Harapan, hoped that all eligible voters would do their part to secure the best for Johor.

"Happy voting to all early voters in the Johor state election. Do your best for this state.

"Choose Harapan candidates for a better future for Johor. Vote Harapan," he said in the post.

A total of 24,751 eligible early voters will cast their ballots at 64 polling centres across the state on Tuesday (July 7).

The early voters include 12,041  armed forces personnel and their spouses, along with 12,710 police and General Operations Force personnel and their spouses.

A total of 53 early polling centres for the police and another 11 for the armed forces will open simultaneously at 8am on Tuesday, with closing times staggered between noon and 6pm depending on the location and number of registered voters.

Pakatan is fielding candidates in all 56 state seats, comprising 20 from PKR, 19 from Amanah and 17 from DAP.
