Two teenagers arrested after ramming into cop manning roadblock in Seremban


SEREMBAN: Police have arrested two male students who rammed a policeman while trying to evade a roadblock in Taman Panchor Jaya here.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were riding a and were detained at about 6.45pm on Saturday (July 4) during Ops Samseng Jalanan.

"The duo acted aggressively when trying to escape and rammed a policeman, causing bruises to his head, right ankle, right hand and waist.

"The victim received treatment at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital and was allowed to return home after an examination revealed no serious injuries," he said in a statement here on Sunday (July 5).

He said both suspects tested negative for drugs and the 14-year-old rider was remanded for two days until on Monday (July 6).

The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, as well as Section 186 and Section 332 of the Penal Code.

Alzafny said 49 summonses were issued for various offences during the six-hour operation. These included riding without a helmet, riding without a licence and illegal exhaust modifications, Twelve motorcycles were seized in the operation. – Bernama
